Through the Civil Society Strengthening Project (#ShiftThePower), led by STAR-Ghana Foundation in collaboration with the West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI), and with support from the FCDO and Comic Relief, civil society organisations (CSOs) are being empowered to redefine the development narrative.
This week, URBANET had the privilege of hosting a team from STAR-Ghana/WACSI to reflect on project progress and outcomes. The engagement went beyond a review; it became a platform for sharing experiences, peer learning, and rethinking how CSOs can strengthen systems to serve communities better while building their own resilience.
At its core, the project focuses on:
Institutional strengthening
Securing financial sustainability
Enhancing operational efficiency
“Part of the purpose of the #ShiftThePower initiative is to strengthen organisations to be able to withstand any possible external shocks.” – Sarah Adjei, Projects Manager, STAR-Ghana.
At URBANET, we view this initiative as a catalyst for transformation, shaping stronger, more adaptive, and sustainable organisations that can deliver lasting impact for the communities they serve.
