To ensure organizational success, it measures and evaluates its operations and human resources. Aside from random and regular meetings that take place throughout the year, a closure meeting is organized at the end of every year before the holidays. This year’s evaluation meeting went beyond that; for this reason, a retreat was organized to take place in the Upper East region, Bolgatanga.
The event featured presentations from various managers, including the Executive Director, the finance and administrative team, the Measuring, Evaluation, and Learning coordinator, the Institutional Development Lead, project coordinators, the Communication manager, and other offices. These presentations focused on activities executed during the year and projections for the future.
The Executive director who led the event emphasized the importance of financial integrity, adherence to organizational policies, and professional conduct in his presentation. Key topics included reviewing Urbanet’s projects, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement, with a focus on enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening communication channels, and building long-term financial sustainability.
Significant among the presentations was that of the Institutional Development Lead, Mr Zakaria Alidu. Within two sessions, he took staff through the organization’s resource mobilization strategy and other organizational structural developments necessary for growth. Another was an in-depth session presented by the GESI lead, Madam Safura Abdullah, on issues concerning Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) and how to address them in the course of our project implementations and within the organization.
In two days, we were not only able to measure our input into our organizational success and a couple of downswings, but we were also able to acquire more information as to how to attain maximum success for the organization and those we work with. URBANET has – for the past two decades- worked hand-in-hand with its employees to provide service to clients and stakeholders
